South Georgia Orthodontics offers adolescent treatment services for teenagers in need of braces or other orthodontic work. Our orthodontists are trained to work with adolescents to fix problems such as overbites, unwanted spacing between teeth, underbites, tooth crowding and many more common tooth problems.

The most common time that braces are worn is between the ages of 10-17. By the age of 10-12, most adult teeth are either all in place or mostly in place. During this age range, most problems are usually noticed, such as crowded teeth, spaces between teeth, large overbites, and other problems associated with a bad bite.

Many kids at this age look forward to wearing braces since they see so many of their friends wearing them. Even for those who are a little apprehensive about wearing braces, they can usually be convinced that this a great time to start treatment so that they will have an amazing smile and a lifetime of straight teeth going forward.

Children usually grow a fast pace during this time, which can allow orthodontists to take advantage of these growth spurts to help guide the bite and teeth into the correct position.
